The Star is an addition to the Cape Resorts Group family that already include the 106-room Congress Hall, the town's most glamorous hotel and The Virginia, a luxury boutique hotel which boasts The Ebbitt Room, consistently rated by critics as one of the finest restaurants in New Jersey.

Congress Hall reopened in 2002 after an extensive and imaginative $25 million renovation by the new owners. The Virginia was renovated and reopened in 1989. The Star was formerly The Perry Street in and reopened in June, 2003 after a $2 million renovation.
